ABOUT
Andrew Lammly (Drew) is a music educator and saxophonist from Glenmont, NY. He currently serves as a band director at Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park, NY, and is the assistant director of the Skidmore Jazz Institute. Drew has previously directed the Clarkson University Jazz Band and held teaching positions in the Niskayuna and Greenville School Districts, as well as at the Crane Youth Music Camp and Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.
Drew holds a Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from Arizona State University and dual Bachelor degrees in Music Education and Saxophone Performance, with a minor in Jazz Studies, from the Crane School of Music. His performance career includes recognition in prestigious competitions such as the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition and MTNA National Chamber Music Competition. His principal saxophone teachers have been Christopher Creviston and Robert Young.
As a founding member of the award-winning Eos Sextet, Drew contributed to their 2018 recording EOS, which features innovative compositions and arrangements and remains a testament to the ensemble’s artistic achievements. Currently, he performs in The Lammly Duo, alongside his wife, harpist Anna Lammly. This duo explores the unique interplay between saxophone and harp, offering audiences a diverse range of musical experiences.
Drew's passion lies in fostering a lifelong appreciation for music among his students and audiences alike. As a guest conductor and clinician, he remains dedicated to inspiring the next generation of musicians through his commitment to music education and performance.
